Meet the who's behind Tagish Wilderness Lodge

  • Gebhard Zuern Wilderness & Fishing Guide

Gebhard Zuern has found his way into the tourism industry through the tour operator Imholz Canada/Alaska in Switzerland. He thereafter passed different stations in the industry, as a buyer for city trips and special group tours and as flight dispatch manager for a private jet company. In 2007, Gebhard decided to leave Switzerland for a period of time, to gather more important and useful experiences abroad. In exotic Cambodia, he has worked as Managing Director of Lolei Travel (Cambodia) and the Passaggio Boutique Hotel in Siem Reap / Angkor. At Tagish Wilderness Lodge, Gebhard is going to assist you in planning your stay, chooses the most suitable activities for you and will lead you to the best fishing spots.
  • Sarah Stuecker Head Chef & Wilderness Guide

Sarah Stuecker felt her passion for Canada already being a Teenager. She sought the relation to that fascinating country first of all also with Imholz Canada/Alaska. Years later and having gathered many other experiences in the incoming and outgoing sectors, Sarah got the opportunity to work as a buyer for the Swiss tour operator Skytours, specialized in North American travel products. Her many travels to the destination, alternating with visits to Southeast Asia have given her interesting inputs in hospitality and gastronomy. At Tagish Lake, Sarah will take care of your personal well being and invites you to taste her Asian flavoured dishes or to enjoy a hearty, traditional Swiss meal.
  • Iamee Hiking & Guard Dog

Iamee is one of our four-legged friends who accompanies us on hikes, shopping trips to town and offers us many hilarious moments when playing around in the snow. We have adopted her from the Animal Shelter in Whitehorse, hoping that she was going to be a good lodge-dog. She actually is doing her job very well, is friendly and playful with guests, calm and quiet in-house and barks when there is wildlife around the lodge. However, when a squirrel or a bird teases her…
  • Bono Iamee's Boyfriend

Bono is the newest member of our bush-clan, adopted from the ADAR SPCA in Tagish in Summer 2015. After beloved and gentle Pinot passed away almost 2 years earlier, Iamee needed a new playmate. Bono fills this job description perfectly. He is smart, very loyal and always eager to please. He's a greyhound x spitz mix, originally bred for speed mushing. It'll take him a while to adjust to being a pet but he has made great progress so far, lighting up our days with his hilarious moves and excited voice. Also, Iamee has taken the job to watch over him and they are a very good match.
  • Muzzi The Boss

Muzzi is our living, walking mouse trap. She came to us in 2012 as a feral cat from the shelter. After the taming process, she became one of the gentlest cats out there. She gives us lots of laughter and stories to tell, but she also made it possible to gain insight in a cat's little understood behaviour, which is remarkably similar to her wild cousin, the lynx. Muzzi remains vary to strangers but will take to you if you give her time. She's on the careful side in general, knowing full well that if caught inattentive, she'll be on the menu for many other critters out here. And yes, she's a tiny bit cross-eyed. Don't tell her that, though!
